Ligand-Exchange Chromatography of Nucleosides and Nucleic-Acid Bases on a Novel Modified Co(II)-Loaded Lycopodium Clavatum and Kinetics in the Resin

Abstract
Rapid separations of nucleosides and nucleic-acid bases can be carried out by liquid-column chromatography using a modified bDAEG-sporopollenin. The purpose of the present study was to confirm the utility of CO2+-loaded bisdiaminoethyl- glyoximated-sporopollenin and to investigate the kinetics of the ligand exchange of nuclesides and nucleic-acid bases in Co2+-loaded bDAEG-sporopollenin. Ligand exchange in the cobalt form has been utilized as a stationary phase to investigate the ligand-exchange chromatographic behavior of nucleic-acid bases and nucleosides.
