Abstract
The region between and is treated for the case of intermediate strength of spin-orbit coupling and central two-body interaction. Energy levels are presented as a function of the relative coupling strength parameter, . Static electromagnetic moments are also computed as functions of . Comparison with experimental results gives a fairly good picture, and determines a definite behavior for as a function of mass number. A possible interpretation of this behavior is suggested.
