Abstract
Cats were conditioned to differential sound intensities at 3 frequencies. When compared with man, the threshold for cats was found to be slightly larger. Two animals showed no change in threshold following bilateral destruction of the auditory cortex. After damage to the auditory cortex 2 other animals required retraining before the conditioned reflex (CR) reappeared. Two other animals operated on before training were able to acquire the CR.
