Salmonella Virchow Testicular Abscess

Abstract
During the summer of 1977 an epidemic of salmonellosis traced to precooked, prepackaged roast beef occurred in the Northeastern United States. A case is reported of a testicular abscess, a rare manifestation of salmonellosis, in an adolescent boy who had a recent history of ingesting such roast beef. The type of Salmonella recovered from the patient was the same as a type in the epidemic.
