Abstract
The literature on pancreatic pseudocysts in the pediatric age group is reviewed. Including this patient, 18 such cases have been found. Whereas pancreatitis leads to pseudocyst formation in the majority of adult cases, in childhood, trauma is the most common etiological agent. A review of the pathogenesis of pancreatic pseudocyst formation is presented. Individualized operative intervention is the keystone to successful management of these cases. In this speed-oriented society where trauma is prevalent, more children will be seen with pseudocysts of the pancreas. Keywords
