Hydroxylation at saturated carbon: haemanthamine

Abstract

Specimens of O-methylnorbelladine (1) have been synthesised carrying ³H-labels of known absolute configuration; they have been used to prove that the hydroxy-group at C-11 of haemanthamine (6) is introduced with retention of configuration.
