Abstract
The movement of microtubules on the kinetochores of isolated chromosomes has been examined by video microscopy. Two different microtubule-based motors on the kinetochore were identified, which have opposite directions of movement. The activities of these two motors can be regulated by factors that can influence phosphorylation. Keywords
