Abstract
A new technique is described for the treatment of phobic patients which may be more effective than other available methods to date. Three out of four patients treated by implosion (flooding) became almost symptom-free after a mean of 14 sessions and remained so over six-and-a-half months' follow-up. The mechanism of action of the method is not yet clear. Keywords
