Reversal Diabetes by Islet Transplantation: Vulnerability of the Established Allograft

Abstract
Nonspecific stimulation of the immune system of CBA mice carrying a functional BALB/c islet allograft failed to trigger graft rejection. Only 3 of 6 animals rejected their graft when injected i.v. with 105, 106 and 107 peritoneal cells of BALB/c origin over a 3 mo. period commencing 100 days after transplantation.
