A cycle of cerebro-spinal meningitis in the gold coast

Abstract
Epidemics of cerebro-spinal meningitis in Africa were not successfully controlled because of the presence of carriers. Better house ventilation during the epidemic dry season might help, but education of the natives is slow and difficult. Direct treatment during epidemics and search for carriers during the non-epidemic wet seasons promise better future control. Since mass inoculation is not available treatment rather than prevention seems to be the only present defense.
