Abstract
This paper reports the results of studies conducted to establish the feasibility of implementing the state estimation algorithm described by J. F. Dopazo et al (1,2) on the Ontario Hydro 230 KV and 500 KV networks. The results are consolidated into normalized graphs which can be used as a basis for design decisions related to implementation of state estimation on systems having topological characteristics similar to those of the network investigated. The paper describes a modification of the Dopazo algorithm which permits weighting of individual measurements rather than of transmission lines. The modified algorithm is shown to have excellent error detecting capabilities. Keywords
