Abstract

Plasma source studies have permitted classification of electrical discharges into two main types according to their effect : thermal (arc, torch) ; or selective excitation (laser, corona and glow discharges). The application of the sources to chemical engineering introduces two questions : 1) the choice of the discharge, 2) the choice of the chemical quenching and synthesis reactor.
