Abstract
The electron impact excitation of Ca+ from the ground state to four terms of the autoionising configurations 3p53d4s and 3p54s2 is calculated using the R-matrix method. Close to threshold electron capture ionisation is found to be important. Good agreement is obtained with the ionisation measurements of Peart and Dolder (1975) over a wide energy range. Keywords
