Abstract
Questionnaires pertaining to the teaching of the history of psychiatry to psychiatric residents and medical students were sent to 248 residency training centers and 99 medical schools. A total of 57% and 53% of each group, respectively, responded. The data are analyzed in order to gain an overview of the kinds of programs offered to residents and medical students and reasons for supporting the teaching of the history of psychiatry are suggested. Keywords
