Abstract
Summary An apparently unique case of generalized subcutaneous emphysema associated with massive pneumoperitoneum, pneumopericardium and pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax resulting from rectovaginal fistula following total abdominal hysterectomy is presented, with a brief review of the literature. The mechanism and pathway of the spread of air are outlined. Keywords
