Abstract
Seven cases of acute peptic ulceration occurring after cardiac surgery are described. There were 4 deaths in this group (50% mortality), which indicates the seriousness of this complication. Prompt diagnosis is essential for a favorable outcome and may be attained only by a constant alertness to the possibility of an acute ulcer in any post-operative cardiac patient who is not doing well. Keywords
