Abstract
The unusual temperature dependence of the specific heat previously observed in U( for T<4 K has been more thoroughly investigated in light of the current marginal-Fermi-liquid theories. Data include specific heat in 0 and 14 T magnetic fields, ρ, and χ for varying concentrations of Pd. Although C/T∝-lnT is obeyed over more than a decade of temperature, ρ does not obey (-αT). The influence of the magnetic transition in U( on the measured properties, as well as its significance for a correct theoretical explanation, is unclear.
