Glutamine Synthetase Activities of Cultures of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Grown in Minimal Media with Histidine, Nitrate or Ammonium Sulphate as the Nitrogen Source

Abstract

The glutamine synthetase activities of cultures grown in minimal medium with the normal concentration of ammonium salts were compared with those of cultures grown under N limitation in histidine or nitrate medium. Cultures grown in a chemostat with growth limited by the availability of ammonium ions as the N source were also studied.
