The Experimental Effect of X-Radiation and Cortisone on Serum Proteins

Abstract
Cortisone and irradiation produced a depression in the serum gamma-globulins in mice. Other serum protein fractions were essentially unaffected. The effects of cortisone and irradiation on the peripheral blood, lymph nodes, and bone marrow are presented. The depressant effect of gamma-globulin with its role in immunity and the production of antibiodies is postulated.
