HIBERNATION AND DIAPAUSE

Abstract
Rates of O consumption and changes in body weight during the development of diapause and non-diapause types of the wasp at constant temps., are presented and compared. Diapause seems, for its occurrence, independent of environmental temps., but its duration is conditioned to an appreciable degree by this factor. Cyclic or rhythmic changes in O consumption and body weight occur during development. Responses to temp. are modified to an extreme degree by the diapause phenomena.
