Silver Impregnation of Ciliated Protozoa: Procedure Yielding Good Results with the Pyridinated Silver Carbonate Method

Abstract

A modification of the pyridinated silver impregnation technique of Rio-Hortega is described. Although the preparations obtained are usually temporary, the specimens are so clearly impregnated that photomicrographs can be taken to record the revealed structures of the infraciliature. Some cortical organelles are seen with greater clarity than is possible with other Ag methods.
