Abstract
In 3 tests in 2 cases of postoperative myxedema (after subtotal thyroidectomy for hyper-thyroidism) astonishingly high values for protein-bound radio-activity were found in the serum after a test-dose of I131 (0.073 -0.426% dose/l. after 48 hrs.). The reliability of the method (trichloroacetic acid precipitation and washings) was tested by repeating the test in 1 case, control of elutability of added iodide (127 and 131), and by graphic analysis of the iodide data.
