Abstract
The diverse types of abnormal endometrial tissue growth have received different forms of treatment, with a particular emphasis on the use of hormonal agents. Hyperplastic endometria have benefited from progesterone or progestin therapies, with good results. Endometrial cancer is a disease with a major indication for surgical treatment. However, advanced clinical stages have been shown to improve as a result of different medical treatments. This presentation reviews the literature on this subject, includes some considerations on the role of some antiestrogens as endometrial tumor promoters in certain patients undergoing adjuvant therapy, and discusses the possibilities of Gn-RH analogs, one of the recent proposals in the treatment of adenocarcinomas and endometrial hyperplasia, including morphological observations of an investigation currently in progress in our department. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
