Abstract
The infrared spectra of liquid and crystalline CHBr2CHBr2 and CHCl2CHCl2 have been obtained in the 2 to 36μ region. It has been observed that CHBr2CHBr2 will crystallize as either trans‐or gauche molecules, depending upon the method of cooling employed. To date, crystalline CHCl2CHCl2 has been prepared in the gauche‐form only. On the basis of these data and previously reported Raman spectra, a partial assignment of the fundamental frequencies has been made. Keywords
