A revised list of the spp. hitherto known in gallinaceous birds is given, and the identity is ascertained of several spp. previously considered separate. The most frequently occurring spp. are: the cropworm, C. contorta (Creplin, 1839) (=C. annulata (Molin, 1858), and C. perforans Kotlan and Orosz, 1931); C. caudinflata (Molin, 1858), often called C. longicollis (Rudolphi, 1819), (=C. bursata Freitas and Almeida, 1934, and, probably, C. columbae (Rudolphi, 1819)); C. obsignata Holger Madsen, 1945, generally being called C. columbae (Rudolphi, 1819); and C. anatis (Schrank, 1790) (=C. collaris (v. Linstow, 1873), C. retusa (Railliet, 1895) and, probably C. longicollis (Rudolphi, 1819)). The cecal worm of pheasants is C. phasianina Kotlan, 1940 (=C. cadovulvata Holger Madsen, 1945).
