Cold Temperature Tolerance of the European Pine Shoot Moth in Lower Michigan

Abstract

Laboratory studies indicated no significant differences in low temperature tolerance of European pine shoot moth larvae from Cadillac and Lansing, Michigan areas. The Cadillac area lies within the zone considered least favorable to shoot moth survival. Mild winter conditions prevented the substantiation of laboratory studies in the field.
