Abstract
We show that a Fabry‐Perot interferometer filled with a Kerr medium has a multiple‐valued transmission‐intensity characteristic. ’’On’’ and ’’off’’ field for bistable operation are estimated, and a simple but accurate approximate theory is described. Keywords
