Band Inversion ofPb1−xSnxSeAlloys under Hydrostatic Pressure. I. Theoretical Band Structure Analysis

Abstract

In order to interpret galvanomagnetic and optical experimental results which will be reported later, a $\overrightarrow{\mathrm{k}}·\overrightarrow{\pi }$ theory about the $L$ point of the Brillouin zone has been developed using a six-band model. This calculation has been carried out to third order in perturbation theory to verify convergence of the development. The theoretical results given by this model are checked against the known experimental results on these salts.
