Abstract
Replacement of the OH hydrogen atoms by deuterium atoms in crystals of 4-methyl-2, 6-ditertiarybutylphenol reduces the 4-methyl group tunnelling rotation frequency at 4.2K from 9.45 to 9.24 GHz. Methyl groups in free radicals formed by gamma irradiation of the crystals show a similar reduction from 4.13 to 4.06 GHz.Keywords
