Abstract
This report represents a study of the incidence of thyrotoxicosis among 601 refugee patients and 4,554 nonrefugee patients. Thyrotoxicosis in the refugee group was almost 4 times that found in the nonrefugee group. These observations lend support to the long-held view that emotional stress is an important contributing factor to the development of thyrotoxicosis. Keywords
