Centric Fusion of Chromosomes in a Set of Bovine Triplets

Abstract
A centric fusion of two acrocentric autosomes, forming a ‘new’ sub-mediocentric autosome, was observed in the leukocytes of female origin of a set of bovine triplets with chorionic vascular anastomosis in utero. No abnormal condition, associated with the chromosomal anomaly was discovered. It is suggested that the centric fusion is of the classical type that has in some cases been associated with species differences among the Chordata and Arthropoda.
