Stress-Induced Tricritical Phase Transition in Manganese Oxide

Abstract
We have performed neutron scattering measurements of the antiferromagnetic order parameter in MnO as a function of temperature and applied uniaxial stress. We find evidence for a tricritical point for a stress at about 5 kbar.Keywords
