Photomicrography of nalidixic acid treated Hyphomicrobium neptunium: inhibition of bud formation and bud separation

Abstract

Hyphomicrobium neptunium proceeds through a number of morphological stages during the course of its life cycle, but apparently only the bud formation and the bud separation stages are inhibited by nalidixic acid.
