Determination of Barbituric Acid Derivatives as Mercury Compounds. III. Composition and Structure of Isolated Compounds.

Abstract
In the compounds between Hg and barbituric acid derivatives, which have been used for the determination of barbiturates, the Hg is attached to the unsubstituted N atoms with homopolar bonds. One atom of Hg combines with one molecule of a barbituric acid derivative, which has two free NH groups. The resulting compounds are polymers with high molecular weights. One atom of Hg combines with 2 molecules of a barbituric acid derivative, which has one free NH group. The resulting compounds are monomers.
