Measurement of space charge distribution in acetophenone coated low-density polyethylene

Abstract
Short interval measurement of space charge formation in acetophenone coated low-density polyethylene (LDPE) under DC high voltage stress is carried out using an improved pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) method. This system makes it possible to measure the space charge formation at intervals of less than one second. Using this system, a dynamic space charge formation in acetophenone coated LDPE was observed at 2 second intervals during the application of DC voltage and polarity reversal. From the experimental results, it was found that a charge packet appeared near the anode within a few seconds, which subsequently moved towards the cathode.
