Abstract
The isolated heart of Venus mercenaria has been recognized as extremely sensitive to acetylcholine. Attaching the lever to the auricles has increased the sensitivity of recording. The response of the heart to varying concs. of acetylcholine gives a conc.-action curve of a hyperbola. Temp. control plays an important part in the sensitivity of the heart to acetylcholine. The preparation may become useful in assays for acetylcholine. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
