Studies during the summer of 1934 yielded 264 genera and species, mostly from inshore waters. There was no marked seasonal distr. Rate of accumulation on shallow bottoms is indicated by a count of 17,060 Protozoa per sq. cm. on watch glasses suspended in a wire cage. The role of Protozoa in the biology of the sea is discussed.
