Ground-State Doublet ofP32

Abstract

Angular distributions obtained for each member of the ground-state doublet of ${\mathrm{P}}^{32}$ in the reaction ${\mathrm{P}}^{31}(d, p){\mathrm{P}}^{32}$ indicate that for both levels the neutron is captured with $l_n=2\mathrm{}$, and that the $s$-wave admixture for the ground state is about 5%. Estimates of the purity of the ${\mathrm{P}}^{31}$ ground-state wave function are made on the basis of the available experimental data.
