Abstract

Both stereoisomers of 1-chloro-1,2-bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)-amino]diphosphane (4) are available by reaction of bis(trimethylsilyl)amino-dichlorophosphane with LiAlH₄. Cl/Hexchange of (4) with LiAlH₄ leads to the meso and racemic form of tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)- diaminodiphosphane (5). Dynamic NMR data of the compounds 4 and 5 are discussed with respect to the molecular configurations and conformations. Equilibrium data for 5 indicate a gauche effect of about 3.8 kJ/mol
