Abstract
The aims and purposes of studies of the structure and geometry of yarns and fabrics are reviewed. An indication is given of the magnitude of the effect that internal structure can have, and the factors that define the shape of the structural units in a fabric are demonstrated. The influence on textile processing of the factors that determine yarn and cloth structure is discussed. Keywords
