CHROMOSOME MOUNTS FOR TEMPORARY STUDY

Abstract
Zirkle''s soln. (Science 85: 528. 1937), or a modification of this, has been found more effective and more convenient as a sealing agent for the temporary preservation of chromosome mounts than any of the various paraffin, or wax and gum mastic, mixtures. The mounts may be made permanent by removing the cover-slip and following the procedure of Meyer {Stain Tech. 18: 53-56. 1943) or of McClintock (Stain Tech. 4:53-56. 1929).
