Bonding of Resins to Phosphoric Acid-Etched Enamel Surfaces of Permanent and Deciduous Teeth

Abstract
The existence of the "prismless" layer on deciduous enamel can prevent adhesive penetration into the enamel surface. Mechanical retention thus is reduced and could account for the greater loss of adhesive observed in clinical tests after two years from deciduous tooth surfaces compared with permanent tooth surfaces. Removal of the prism less layer results in adhesive penetration.Keywords
