Abstract
Ten adult intact rats were treated daily for 2 months with subcut. injns. of 0.25-4 mg. desoxycorticosterone acetate in oil together with 2-5 ml. of saline. Ten unilaterally nephrectomized adult rats were treated with implantation of a tablet of 20 mg. desoxycorticosterone acetate and received saline instead of drinking water. The observation period was 4 months. Under these conditions a slight rise of the blood pressure was noticed in some cases. Slight dilatation of the tubules in the kidneys or degenerative changes were observed in some cases, but no changes in the vascular system or in the glomeruli. The renal changes were not of the same type as found in nephrosclerosis in man. Keywords
