A Microrespirometer

Abstract
A simple constant‐volume microrespirometer designed for the measurement of gas exchanges of from 0.001 to 0.5 mm3 is described. The results of some measurements of oxygen uptake by minute living organisms are presented, certain advantages of the design are pointed out, and the possibilities of application of the instrument to general microrespirometry are indicated.
