Abstract
It is argued that a measurement of the elastic constant C 11+C 12+2C 33 - 4C 13 of disortterr:d Mg-Cd alloys would hc useful in tnnt, ing reccnt ideas on the structures of the divalent, metals which suggest that this elastic constant should show a deep minimum in the region of 60-70 at. % Cd.Keywords
