Abstract
A CO2 waveguide laser with a silicon cathode is described. Laser action can be obtained at pressures over 4 atm without preionization. At atmospheric pressue specific outputs as high as 5 J/l have been obtained, and the laer operated at pulse repetition frequencies up to 1 kHz.Keywords
