The Treatment of Lymphopathia Venereum with Sodium Sulfanilyl Sulfanilate and Sodium Sulfanilate

Abstract
14 cases, diagnosed by positive Frei test, with demonstration of rectal stricture and high globulihemia, were cured or greatly improved by prolonged treatment of 6 to 35 weeks with either Na sulfanilyl sulfanilate or Na sulfanilate, or both, as indicated by cessation of the bloody purulent discharge, disappearance of fistulae, or lympheroids, and absorption of the rectal stricture. Four of the cases, in which colostomy had previously been performed with no improvement, responded to treatment with closure and healing of colostomy and restoration of normal bowel function.
