Abstract
Summary 1. Two species of Brazilian howler monkeys were found to be highly susceptible to the Olímpio Cristo strain of yellow fever virus when transmitted by mosquito bite. 2. Four cyclic transmissions were obtained with A. scapularis and three with A. leucocelaenus. 3. The facility with which laboratory transmissions were obtained with A. scapularis suggests a possible explanation for the survival of virus in the winter months in south Brazil. Keywords
