The antibacterial activity in vitro and β-lactamase stability of the new cephalosporin HR 810 in comparison with five other cephalosporins and two aminoglycosides

Abstract

The antibacterial activity of the cephalosporin antibiotic HR 810 was evaluated in comparison with cefoperazone, cefotaxime, ceftazidime, ceftriaxone, latamoxef, gentamicin and amikacin against 1500 clinical isolates. HR 810 is the antibiotic with the broadest antimicrobial spectrum. It is also highly active against isolates of the generaPseudomonas, Enterobacter, Staphylococcus and enterococci. HR 810 is very stable against hydrolysis by plasmid-coded and chromosomally coded β-lactamases. Die antibakterielle Aktivität des Cephalosporinantibiotikums HR 810 wurde im Vergleich mit Cefoperazon, Cefotaxim, Ceftazidim, Ceftriaxon, Latamoxef, Gentamicin und Amikacin bei 1500 klinischen Isolaten untersucht. HR 810 erwies sich dabei als das Antibiotikum mit dem breitesten antimikrobiellen Spektrum, das auch Isolate der GeneraPseudomonas, Enterobacter, Staphylococcus und Enterokokken bei niedrigen Konzentrationen im Wachstum hemmt. Das Präparat ist sehr stabil gegen die Hydrolyse durch Plasmid- codierte und chromosomal codierte β-Laktamasen.
