Abstract
VARIATIONS in practice patterns and concerns about the quality of medical care have prompted the development of practice guidelines, along with interest in the extent to which actual practice is consistent with recommended care.1-4 Currently, the most widely accepted set of practice guidelines for primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Preferred Practice Pattern (PPP).5 However, relatively little is known about how actual care for POAG compares with the care suggested in the PPP.Keywords
